t-r-u-t-h's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Lady Peace Concert!! I have two of Our Lady Peace's cds. I've always thought that they're alright. Not my favorite but they're alright. So Clarion Campus's UAB (University Activities Board) decides that for the band they're going to host this year it will be Our Lady Peace with an opener of Theory of a Deadman. I hear this long before the posters come out because I'm chummy with one of the people on the Board. Well, I'm pissed when I hear this because originally they were supposed to have Motion City Soundtrack (which makes me orgasm). I go stomping around campus saying all of these things like "I definitely don't want to go see them. I don't even like they're music. I mean, they're okay but come on! Motion City is SO much better!!". But then... Richard tells me he's not coming and I suddenly have to think of things to do to keep me occupied. Shit. Nothing to do friday... bah... I download some Our Lady Peace... meh... it's kind of crappy... I don't like the way his voice goes all crazy... hmm. Start listening to their old stuff... Good... I guess... no Motion City Soundtrack but it's okay. I talk to Jess, asking her if she's going and she says "only if you go". So, on thursday afternoon (the day before the concert) we go and buy our cheap tickets. I don't hear much talk about the concert within the students but when we get there we see that's it mainly not students, it's a lot of die hard fans. We go in and stand toward the front, maybe ten feet away from the stage and wait and wait and wait. Then Theory of a Deadman comes out, I've never heard of them but there was a group of guys surrounding me, except for my front that obviously had. As soon as the guys came out they started screaming which songs to play and bouncing around and singing along. They would have killed me if moshing was allowed. It was a really good time though. Theory rocked the place and after they left they'd gained at least a mediocre fan. For the half an hour after Theory we waited and waited and waited for Our Lady Peace to get on stage and during that time some fights broke out between people who were trying to get through to the front and pushing people who waited in line for a long ass time to the back (which pissed even me off a lot). But then when they came out. Oh my god. It was fucking awesome. They rocked in concert. 1000 times better than cd.
